Product data synchronization is the foundation of any reliable supply chain management initiative such as RFID or Vendor Managed Inventory or Collaborative Planning and Forecasting.  In a massive undertaking to automatically synchronize product data of all retail products sold in USA and worldwide, Wal*Mart threw its weight behind Global Data Synchronization using UCCnet.   As a result HP needed to collect and synchronize its product data with UCCnet and Wal*Mart.  This data was scattered amongst its various internal systems, and it needed to be in a consistent XML based format.   Acting as Solution Architect, Himanshu provided able leadership and reliable architecture to build a platform for data synchronization using a combination of Biztalk, Sharepoint and XML web services.

 

Robert Bosch to AutoZone

 

In another project for catalog data synchronization between trading partners, Himanshu provided pinpoint solutions for organization, storage, annotation and change control of parts image data, using Microsoft Sharepoint services, BizTalk and Microsoft WSE.  This project was carried out in collaboration with Microsoft Consulting Services and Himanshu provided valuable skills that supplemented Microsoft experts.

Himanshu played a key role in designing the credit card processing, billing and other backend applications for this pioneering VOIP firm.  Net2phone processed nearly 150000 credit card transactions per day and it also provided other payment options such as wire transfers, Paypal and checks.  Himanshu was instrumental in providing solutions for security, fraud prevention and globalizing Net2Phone’s payment system by establishing links between a chain of e-commerce partners including Global Payments, e-Forex, OANDA and Net2Phone.

Jobnet.com was an ambitious experiment to provide massively scalable job search and resume service web site engine.  Using Microsoft COM+ and ASP technology in combination with BizTalk and MSMQ services in the background, customers could have one stop shop to manage and publish all their want ads and resumes across different internet job search engines such as Career Builder, Monster, Dice and others.  Himanshu provided design and programming of backend BizTalk system that managed electronic transactions and data exchange between Jobnet.com and other job sites.

IDT is one of the leading telecom companies and they provide competitive pricing by aggressively reducing costs.  Himanshu provided IDT with a customized SMTP server that saves email received for IDT customer service into a database and then assigns it to customer service reps that are qualified to deal with the specific issue in the email.  This SMTP server handled over 6000 messages per hour.

 

In another call center automation project, Himanshu provided a call center queue management system using C#.NET and web services that interfaces with Lucent PBX switches using JAVA API and assigns calls to available customer service reps based on customer’s ANI (automatic number identification) entries.

Power trading settlements for entire NorthEast

 

In a highly regulated power trading industry, the utility companies have to be very diligent in accurately computing power prices and while maintaining tight security and keeping a very extensive audit trail.

 

During this project data from over 50 different data sources is collected, aggregated, scrubbed and loaded into a packaged application called Zainet which is provided by Sungard. 

 

A combination of SQL Integration services and SQL notification services is used to move massive amounts of data, while maintaining audit trails and controlling access to data.  A variety of SQL integration services features such as package configurations, variables, property expressions and dynamically modified data flow tasks are used to create a flexible and robust system consisting of modular components that can easily be reconfigured to keep up with the changing regulations and business landscape.

 

 

Northeast pricing DataMart for Price and demand forecasting

 

Real time and daily Pricing, load, weather and outage data is collected from about 10000 power distribution points all over the north east region from a variety of data sources such as web page scrapping, web services, ftp and http file downloads.  When over four years of this data is combined into a data warehouse of terabytes size, it presents many performance, scalability and storage allocation challenges. 

 

Using a combination of the latest Microsoft SQL server 2005, Microsoft Biztalk server 2006, COGNOS powerplay business intelligence and SQL reporting services, a powerful and extremely robust solution is created that is able to gather data without missing a single record from ordinary public internet network connections over months.

Miami Dade School District

 

Deployed and demonstrated future of America’s schools at Miami Dade county which is the focus of attention for entire state of Miami and getting personal attention from Gov. Jeb Bush. Used Microsoft SharePoint technologies and Microsoft Class Server to demonstrate interactive learning and test scores administration.   This project was enthusiastically received by the teachers and administrators alike and Miami Dade school district is well on its way to becoming one of the first school district to entirely computerize test administration and interactive learning.
